Actually that is not all. I don’t mind this theme because I’m in love with Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni.
17 Days
I gave up meat for lent. So far it has been 17 days and I’m feeling pretty good about myself. Kidney beans and Moroccan houmous have been getting me through, luckily they are pretty tasty. Basically every day I have been eating wraps consisting of kidney beans, refried Mexican beans, lettuce, spinach, goat’s cheese, salsa and crème freche. I feel like a castaway on a desert island, writing my final musings on life as I now know it. I feel like Guybrush Threepwood. Or the Baudelaire orphans in ‘The End’. 23 days to go.

I once asked Stevie Jackson of Belle & Sebastian a few years ago what his most favorite Nick Drake song was, and he said “It has to be the fast version of Hazey Jane, I think”. I would have to agree. As much as I love Nick at his moody lows, the highs in his songs are just as gorgeous. And it does sound like a Belle & Sebastian song, if you really think about it!
I’m pretty excited right now because this time next month, I will be traveling through Tanworth-In-Arden, the place where Nick once lived and now rests in. I’ve never been in the English countryside, it should be quite nice this time of the year. And it will be great for me to pay my respects to one of my favorite musicians.
Our thoughts are with you Japan.

Build a Rocket Boys!
Pre-ordered Elbow’s new album, however it managed to come through after the release date, so itunes sucks. But still I’ve managed to listen to it all the way through three times so far, and I am satisfied. I need to learn all the words to every song before I GO TO SEE THEM LIVE ON THE 27TH. I really hope I don’t wee myself, because Guy would not be impressed. High Ideals is my favourite song on the album so everyone should listen to it. I also like Birds, not the reprise though, who is John Moseley and why is he singing on the album? Don’t understand. Doubt he’ll be at the gig though. Everyone should love Elbow. EVERYONE.
